May Days

A lot has happened this month, including Eliot having his first surgery. He had tubes put in his ears, and his adenoids were removed. Hopefully this will reduce the severity and duration of those nasty colds! Ok, so this set is from April 30th but it's close enough. Practicing downward dog on May 3rd. The next day. Eliot loves playing in big brother's room...especially climbing on his bed! Looking good on the new scooter. Thanks Grandma Fran! Later in the day, Simon's friend Giada came over along with her baby brother, Basilio (their mom, Andrea, decided to come, too). Two days later, having some fun in the bath. On to May 7th. And now it's showtime. Mommy asked Simon to display his various emotions. More bathtime. From May 10th. The next morning. Later that afternoon. Interesting look. Let's move on to May 14th. Most of the time, Eliot is nice to Theo. But lately he's started to annoy the pooch a bit, and the pooch ain't liking it. He's getting pretty good on that scooter. This was taken at the Waukegan airport late the same afternoon. What he says at the end is, "What do you got, an apple bar or fruit snacks?" And right before bed that night. Look at those matching PJs! I have to say that this took some skill on my part since I was pushing the swing and videotaping simultaneously. It was shot last Friday. One can never get enough bath pics. Simon is getting better at taking pictures. It's a bit grainy, but this is how we found Simon when we went to check on him last Friday night. I wouldn't choose to fall asleep this way, but perhaps this is how the kids are doing it these days. Last Saturday, our friends Aiden, Asher and Brianne stopped by to play. From Sunday morning. It's always nice when you can eat breakfast outside. Later in the afternoon playing in the yard. Sunday was a busy day. Time for bed. This was shot on Monday. Mommy can take video and push a swing at the same time, too. I guess I am not that talented :(. And now to Surgery Tuesday. Everything went well. There was some crying in the recovery room, but that was to be expected. After a nap and some lunch he was back at it. Mr. Funny Faces Apparently playing with the hose is a knee-slapper. During the winter our mailbox was destroyed by the county snowplows. It was temporarily fixed, but Wednesday was the permanent job. Lots of excitement when a big truck is outside the house. Grandma Fran is visiting this Memorial Day weekend. Taken earlier this afternoon. Last summer we didn't take the bikes out because Eliot was too little, but this year is a whole different story. Look out forest preserves, here we come! Finally, we wish Papa and all the other veterans out there a Happy Memorial Day. Thank you for your service to our country.
