State of the Union
More on the header later. It's been a fun couple of weeks as we got back into the swing of things on the home front.
After quite a few slides down, climbs up, and swings swung, we decided to read the manual to find out if there were weight restrictions on our new apparatus. To my disappointment, I exceed the limits on everything so I am relegated to going up the steps and hanging out in the treehouse. Sad but true.
This was taken on August 18th at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Village of Wadsworth.
Mommy and I kept busy that night as I posted all of our pictures from Sweden, and she put this together.
The next day started off with a smile.
We went back to the park later in the morning to see what was happening, and they had a little classic car show. Here's Simon in a 1931 Ford Phaeton.
As part of the celebration the fire department was open to the public.
After lunch and a nap we invited over Dr. Andrea Valeri, who is one of Rachel's partners, and her two children, Giada and Basilio. Giada and Simon are classmates at school.
On to August 21st.
Part of the snack were the peanut butter pretzels we all love, and when we ran out Simon went inside and brought some more back out. What service!
Lunch was about 30 minutes later.
Mid afternoon brought a trip to the airport.
An oldie but goodie.
Now to this weekend. Simon first noticed this outside our backdoor yesterday morning. I haven't seen a grasshopper this close in a while.
We dusted off the ole' exersaucer and brought it upstairs. Eliot seems to like it thus far.
Ever been to Union, IL? Well, we can now say we have! It's the home of the Illinois Railway Museum, which is apparently the largest one of its kind in the country. Two weekends a year in the summer it's "A Day with Thomas." Needless to say it was a big hit.
It rained all day, but we were treated to a nice little sight out back after the clouds broke.
