The Kids Are Alright
Eliot is now just over three weeks old, and everyone's doing well. Obviously we'd like to be getting more sleep, but as one of my clients told me the other day, "You'll sleep when you're dead." I can live with that.
The watchdog on guard.
Eliot's bris was on April 6th, and we thank everyone who joined us for the occasion. I tried to stay as far away from the cutting as I could, but the OB/GYN in my house told me it went well.
Tia and "A" looking like a proud aunt and uncle.
Looks like GG and Papa were happy to be there as well.
Can't forget Grandma Frau.
The weekend of the bris Grandma Frau and I took Simon to the Waukegan airport. This trip is becoming a weekly stop.
For the second Seder of Passover we went to Saba and Nana's in Milwaukee.
This kid ain't goin' anywhere wrapped like this.
Simon checking out his old carseat.
The matzah pizza chefs hard at work.
I never saw this many miles available on our Nissan Leaf before, so I had to document.
This is the DC Quick Charge station at the Lake Forest Oasis. This will allow me to charge up the car in about 20 minutes.
This brings back memories.
One can NEVER have enough matzah pizza during Passover.
On April 12th mommy visited her hospital. This is one of her partners, Dr. Anya Hartley.
And here's mommy's nurse, Mary.
April 13th brought a visit from great aunt Liz.
Interesting hand placement.
Only the bald survive.
We recently heard about a great park in Gurnee. Mommy did a great job shooting this video, especially considering she was also watching Eliot nearby.
Last Saturday night we had dinner at Wildfire in Glenview to celebrate many April birthdays. As you know, two-year-olds can be squirmy, so I took Simon outside to hang out.
Back to the nice park on Sunday.
After the park we had lunch nearby at Einstein's.
And a nice milkshake for dessert at Potbelly.
A chocolate brownie cookie, too? Wow, we're nice parents.
I did the best I could to smile while still sipping my shake. I mean, it was my birthday after all, so I was entitled to be lazy.
Eliot is definitely opening his eyes more.
A little birthday celebration for daddy.
As you've heard, Eliot is making a lot of noises. Here's some hiccups.
You're just a little big the Moses basket, buddy. But that smile allows you to get away with A LOT.
Where's his top half?
The sling has come in handy many times when the little guy has been fussy.
This is what's known as laryngomalacia.
Yesterday we stopped by Bass Pro Shops (boy was I out of my element there!) in Gurnee. We saw some BIG fishies there.
(Postscript: we very much want to thank Tia and Mima for all of their help as we transitioned home with two kids.)
