4th Month Dr. Appt.

Just got back from the pediatrician's office, and all went well. Simon got four shots and cried a lot, but it needed to be done.

He now weighs 15 lb, 10oz (50th percentile)
He now measures 26 in (90th percentile)
His head circumference is now 42 in (50th percentile)

That's all the news that's fit to print!

More Miami

Now that we've had a chance to catch our collective breaths, here's a few more pics from Miami.

Remember to use sunscreen even when it's overcast! (look at my left arm near the shoulder).

Of course Mr. Sleep Sheep had to come along to the Sunshine State.

Caught in the act of a big yawn.

"Sunshine" State?

A little rain wasn't going to stop a stroll on the boardwalk!

This was taken right before mommy and the kid went back home Monday.

Finally, a little sleeping update: The last two nights have not gone as well in terms of sleeping through the night. Sometimes it's two steps forward, one step back. Let's all think happy thoughts!

Do You Believe in Miracles?...YES!

I hope Al Michaels doesn't get too made that I just used his most famous call, but it had to be done.

Last night Simon slept through the night! I first put him down at 7pm and he woke up at 8:30. After soothing and feeding him he fell asleep again at 9pm and didn't get up until Rachel woke him at 5am to nurse!

I'll post a few more pictures from Miami soon.

Waterworld

We all got a good night's sleep last night and were ready for some fun today. We had a breakfast at one of the restaurants downstairs, and then headed back upstairs.

A nap was needed apparently.

Here's some shots from our room.

Now for a little time at the pool.

This was taken back at the room before another nap.

And now from the past week at home.

As you may have heard we picked up a new stroller in preparation for our trip to Miami, so of course we had to test it out.

Hilda likes to bathe Simon in the kitchen sink, and Wednesday morning I was home late enough to see it in action.

When I arrived home from work on Thursday there was a nice dinner all ready to go. Even Simon got me a card and helped with the candles.

We Made It!

Well, we made it to the hotel. Simon did very well on his first flight and we just put him to bed. I am sure all of you have heard the saying, "When one door closes, another one opens." In our case tonight it was literal.

The bellhop took us to our room and it was not cleaned up properly, so he took us back downstairs. Due to the inconvenience they upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite at no additional cost. I might just have to move in permanently.

First a couple of pictures on the plane.

And here's a little taste of the suite.

Now it's time for pizza and ice cream in the room.

Night night.

The Next Orville and Wilbur?

We're taking Simon on his first flight tonight, but before we go here's a little something for you. My wife got me a new toy for my birthday: FlipVideo.

The Smiler

During the last several weeks Simon has been smiling as you've seen. But I've noticed more recently that his smiles have become more demonstrative. He's also making more sounds, etc., so perhaps his personality is beginning to reveal itself. Now we just need him to sleep through the night!

Before Robyn headed back to Israel she dropped by one more time last weekend.

Dad gets credit for this one.

And this one.

And this one.

These are all Hilda.

Thanks to grandma Janet's babysitting I got to have some fun yesterday and last night. My old friend, Dr. Daniel Lee, was in Milwaukee and got two tickets to the Bucks/Celtics game.

His family has a house on Big Cedar Lake in West Bend, WI, so I first drove there for a visit in the afternoon.

Nice views from the backyard, huh?

Dan and his wife, Dr. Ingrid Lizarraga, have two sons: Two-year old Ethan and five-week-old Adam.

Family Central

The last week included Passover, so Simon saw many family members that included a couple that he's never met before: Uncle Aaron and Aunt Shauna Miller. They live in San Diego, so we appreciate them braving the elements to head back to the good ole' Midwest.

This was taken as we were about to have breakfast at The Bagel in Old Orchard mall.

Simon loves to stand, and still LOVES to drool. We cannot go anywhere without a running supply of bibs.

He's able to control his body a bit better, so we tried him in the bumbo and he looked like a natural. This was a gift from Jim and Jill Schlesinger (parents of Todd Schlesinger, my business partner. Jim has been at our company for 37 years and was the branch manager when I was hired).

Two very silly guys!

He does not care who feeds him, as long as he's fed!

I wonder if they're discussing the Zapruder film. We'll never know...

When all other methods have failed we can always turn to the swing.

For second Seder we went to Saba and Nana's place in Milwaukee. But before we arrived there we visited great-grandma Ilse.

Don't mess with me as I'm being held by my aunt!

You see here why we need the bib.

All the "kids" except you-know-who.
